(Analyt. ed.) 7 218/1 The word ‘micrurgy’ was coined by Petérfi..to describe biological microdissection and later expanded by Titus and Gray..to include dissection and examination under the microscope of non~biological material. Since the term, by its pure Greek derivation, means ‘operations on a small scale or work with minute quantities’, it can logically be used as a general term to include microchemistry, microanalysis, and chemical microscopy... It is here so used, and is suggested for general adoption.
