Etymology: < milli- comb. form + grade n. Compare French milligrade (1923).
Mathematics. rare.
One-thousandth of a grade (grade n. 1b), i.e. 3.24 seconds of arc.

1937 P. Wijdenes Five Place Tables Pref. One quadrant has 100 grades (gr), which in turn are subdivided decimally in decigrades (dgr), centigrades (cgr), milligrades (mgr) and decimilligrades (dmgr).
