Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element; perhaps modelled on a Spanish lexical item, or perhaps modelled on a Portuguese lexical item. Etymons: mini- comb. form, Latin lātifundium.
Etymology: < mini- comb. form + classical Latin -fundium (in lātifundium: see latifundia n.), after Spanish minifundio or Portuguese minifúndio (see minifundio n.).
