A type of basic intrusive rock found chiefly in Cornwall, which is an altered dolerite rich in albite and brown hornblende, also containing angite and other minerals.

The presence of large platy albite and soda-microcline felspars gives them a distinctive character, and if they are entitled to a special designation they may be called minverites, a sub-group of essexites.
