Origin: Probably a borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin mirabilitas.
Etymology: Probably < post-classical Latin mirabilitas (4th cent.; 14th cent. in a British source) < classical Latin mīrābilis (see marvel n.1) + -tās (see -ty suffix1; compare -ity suffix). Compare Middle French mirabilité (1530; 1528 in form mirabileté ), Italian mirabilita (a1808). Compare earlier mirable n., mirabilist n., and later mirabilia n. Compare also earlier admirability n.
Obsolete. rare.
Admirable quality; marvellousness.
