Etymology: < mnemon- (in mnemonic adj.) + -ize suffix. Compare French mnémoniser (1827 in past participle). N.E.D. (1907) gives only the pronunciation (nī·mŏnəiz) /ˈniːmənaɪz/. See also the fuller discussion of pronunciation s.v. mnemonic n. and adj.
