Etymology: < post-classical Latin Moabita (see Moabite n.) + -ish suffix1. In later use probably re-formed < Moabite n. + -ish suffix1. Compare German moabitisch (1534 in Luther).Compare also Old English Moabisc, adjective and noun, in the same sense.
Of, relating to, or characteristic of the Moabites. Also in allusive and extended use. In Old English also as n.
