Etymology: < scientific Latin Molochinae, subfamily name (see quots.) < Moloch , genus name (see Moloch n. 3) + -inae -inae suffix; compare -ine suffix1. N.E.D. (1907) gives the pronunciation as (mǫ·lŏkin) /ˈmɒləkɪn/.
Zoology. Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.

Of or relating to the former subfamily Molochinae of agamid lizards, which comprises the moloch or thorny devil, Moloch horridus.
