单词 | moeso-gothic |
释义 | Moeso-Gothicn.adj. Now rare. A. n. The language of the Moeso-Goths.Formerly applied to the language of the extant Gothic version of portions of the Scriptures, the work of the Moeso-Gothic bishop Ulfilas (Gothic Wulfila, c311–382). However, as these texts represent by far the largest proportion of Gothic to survive, and as the language of the other remains is not at all distinctive, it is now usual to describe all the extant texts simply as ‘Gothic’.
