Etymology: Apparently < Italian †moroso peevish, hard to please (Florio 1611) < classical Latin mōrōsus morose adj.1The plural form morosi (see quot. 1592) could represent the classical Latin plural mōrōsī (see morose adj.1).
Obsolete. rare.
A morose or peevish person.
