Etymology: < moon n.1 + walking n.In sense 1 after German Mondsucht somnambulism, sleepwalking < Mond moon n.1 + Sucht sickness, addiction (see sought n.). Compare the work title Sleep Walking and Moonwalking: a Medico-literary Study (1919–20) translating a German original Über Nachtwandeln u. Mondsucht: eine Medizinisch-literarische Studie (1914).
