Etymology: < the name of James Morison (1816–93), Scottish preacher, who in 1841 was suspended from the office of minister of the (presbyterian) United Secession Church at Kilmarnock for preaching doctrines incompatible with Calvinism, and founded the Evangelical Union + -ian suffix.
