Etymology: < myelo- comb. form + -genesis comb. form, after myelogenetic adj.Perhaps after a German form used by P. Flechsig (not traced); compare myelogenetisch myelogenetic adj. Elsewhere, Flechsig uses Markbildung, Markentwicklung to denote myelogenesis (P. Flechsig 1903, in Neurol. Centralblatt 22).
