Duchenne 1868, in Arch. générales de médecine 11 5).A translation of Duchenne's original paper was published in 1968 as a centennial commemoration:1968 tr. G. B. A. Duchenne in Arch. Neurol. (Chicago) 19 629/1 I propose to call this disease..myosclerotic paralysis after its peripheral anatomic characteristics.
