Etymology: < the name of Johann Friedrich Theodor (Fritz) Müller (1821–97), German-born Brazilian zoologist, who in 1878 described a case of this type of mimicry ( Kosmos 5 100) + -ian suffix. Compare slightly earlier Batesian adj.
