Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: Greek νεῦρον , -lite comb. form1.
Etymology: < ancient Greek νεῦρον sinew, tendon, nerve (see neuro- comb. form) + -lite comb. form1 (see quot. 1836).
Mineralogy. Now historical and rare.
A variety of clay having a fibrous texture, resembling pinite.
