1951 J. H. Moss Early Man in Eden Valley v. 62 In the Sierra Nevada, Matthes (1939) has described a similar set of small, very fresh moraines fronting the existing glaciers... They contrast sharply with the older moraines slightly farther down the valley. Matthes suggested the name Neo-glaciation for the minor glacial pulsation represented by these moraines, and pointed out that it probably postdates the so-called Climatic Optimum.

1997 Jrnl. Biogeogr. 24 842 Yagi & Minaki (1991) found four stages of glacial advance around the Shipton Pass and the last two were correlated with neoglaciation in the Holocene.

1999 Chikei 20 69 These two dates correspond with the Neoglaciations III and IV of the HPS (Hielo Patagonico Sur), respectively, which is located farther south.
