Etymology: < neo- comb. form + -morphic comb. form. In sense 1 after German neomorph (L. Milch 1895, in Neues Jahrb. f. Mineral. 9 130). In senses 2 and 3 after neomorph n.
1. Geology.
a. Of rock: altered in form after crystallization from magma. Obsolete. rare.
