单词 ner
释义

nerconj.

Forms: late Middle English nefe (transmission error), late Middle English nyr, late Middle English–1500s ner, late Middle English–1500s nere; Scottish pre-1700 nar; Irish English 1500s nar.
Origin: Probably of multiple origins. Probably partly formed within English, by clipping or shortening. Probably partly a variant or alteration of another lexical item. Etymons: neither adv.; nor conj.1
Etymology: Probably partly shortened < neither adv. (and conj.), and partly a low-stress variant of nor conj.1 (perhaps after ne conj.1). Compare Old Frisian nēr neither, nor.
Obsolete.
= nor conj.1The Ormulum (c1175) line 16581 has the reading ner eteþþ, apparently showing this word, but the probable reading is ne neteþþ.
