Nilo-Hamitic adj.), usually those now regarded as Western Nilotic. According to the widely-accepted classification of African languages by Greenberg (see quot. 1966), the term was extended to cover three branches: Western Nilotic (including Shilluk, Dinka, Nuer, Acholi, Lango, and Luo), Eastern Nilotic (including Bari, Teso-Turkana, Lotuxo, and Masai) and Southern Nilotic (Kalenjin and Datooga).
