Origin: A borrowing from Russian. Etymon: Russian ničego.
Etymology: < Russian ničego (1645 in Old Russian as ničevo in sense ‘it is nothing, it can be borne’; in modern Russian the g in this position is pronounced as v), genitive of ničto nothing; with the construction compare French de rien, Spanish de nada.
