Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin Nodosaurus.
Etymology: < scientific Latin Nodosaurus (O. C. Marsh: see quot. 1889) < classical Latin nōdus knot, node (see node n.) + scientific Latin -saurus -saurus comb. form.
Palaeontology.
The type genus of the ornithischian family Nodosauridae (the nodosaurids); (also nodosaurus) a dinosaur of this genus.
