A person who or thing which does not combine or agree with another person or thing; a person who does not agree to or comply with the terms of a settlement, etc.; (English History) a member of that section of the Jacobite party (c1692) which sought the restoration of James II without the imposition of any conditions (cf. compounder n. 2b).
