Origin: Of multiple origins. Partly a borrowing from French. Partly formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: French noiseor , nuiseor , noiseur ; noise v., -er suffix1.
Etymology: < Old French noiseor enemy, quarreller (c1160; also nuiseor, Anglo-Norman nuisour, nuisor), Middle French noiseur (c1450) < noise noise v. + -eor , -eur -er suffix2. In later use probably independently < noise v. + -er suffix1.
