Etymology: < non- prefix + crossover n. (compare sense 5).
Genetics.
A chromosome that has not undergone crossing over during meiosis; a gamete that has one or more such chromosomes; (also) an individual who does not exhibit the phenotypic results of crossing over (at one or more loci). Frequently attributive.
