Etymology: < non- prefix + juror n. Compare nonjurant n.
1. Church History. A person who refuses to take an oath; spec. (frequently with capital initial) a beneficed clergyman who refused to take an oath of allegiance in 1689 to William and Mary and their successors. Also in extended use. Cf. nonjurant n., non-swearer n.
