单词 abluted
释义

ablutedadj.

Brit. /əˈbluːtᵻd/, U.S. /əˈbludəd/
Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Probably also partly formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Latin ablūtus , abluere , -ed suffix1; ablute v., -ed suffix1.
Etymology: Originally < classical Latin ablūtus, past participle of abluere to wash off or away (see abluent adj.) + -ed suffix1. Compare later ablute v. In later use probably directly < ablute v. + -ed suffix1.
