Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: Greek νόος , -logical comb. form.
Etymology: < ancient Greek νόος nous n. + -logical comb. form. Compare noology n., nooscopic adj. (also earliest in Bentham). Compare French noologique (A. M. Ampère Essai sur la philos. des sci. (1834) 28). In later use chiefly after German noologisch (R. Eucken Grundlinien einer neuen Lebensanschauung (1907) 200; compare quots. 1909, 1913).
Of or relating to noology.
