Etymology: < post-classical Latin observatrix a (female) person who observes (early 3rd cent. in Tertullian, of an abstract quality; c1000 in a British source in sense ‘attendant’), feminine form corresponding to classical Latin observātor observator n.: see -trix suffix.
Obsolete. rare.
