Etymology: < omni- comb. form + form n. + -ist suffix, perhaps after conformist n. Compare earlier omniform adj.Coined in reference to St Paul's description of himself at 1 Corinthians 9:22: ‘I am made all things to all men’ (King James Bible, 1611), omnibus omnia factus sum (Vulgate).
Obsolete. rare.
