Onion Johnny
n. British colloquial. (A generic name for) an onion seller from Brittany, esp. the town of Roscoff, who sells onions door-to-door around the south coasts of England and Wales. More fully Onion Johnny. Now chiefly historical.Such onion sellers were most common in the UK from the early to mid 20th cent.
