Origin: A borrowing from Greek. Etymon: Greek ὀψοϕαγία.
Etymology: < ancient Greek ὀψοϕαγία the eating of delicacies, especially of fish < ὀψοϕάγος an eater of delicacies ( < ὄψον rich fare, delicacies, at Athens especially fish (see opsony n.) + -ϕάγος : see -phagous comb. form) + -ία -y suffix3; compare -phagy comb. form.
