1907 W. S. Syme in Glasgow Med. Jrnl. 67 487 As now performed, the name otectomy would appear preferable to ossiculectomy. It consists in the removal of the remains of the membrane, the malleus and incus, and the external wall of the attic.
1908 Practitioner Apr. 528 The performance of otectomy through a post-aural incision has been recommended.
