Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin ōre rotundō.
Etymology: < classical Latin ōre rotundō, literally ‘with round mouth’ (see note) < ōre , ablative of ōs mouth (see oral adj.) + rotundō , ablative of rotundus rotund adj.Compare Horace Ars Poetica 323 Grais ingenium, Grais dedit ore rotundo Musa loqui ‘To the Greeks the Muse gave genius, to the Greeks the power of expressing themselves in well-turned speech’.
