Etymology: < ancient Greek οὐδεμία, feminine form corresponding to οὐδείς no, none, not any ( < οὐδέ and not ( < οὐ not, of unknown origin + δέ but, and, of uncertain origin) + εἷς (feminine μία ) one, < the same Indo-European base as same adj.) + -an suffix.
