Etymology: < over- prefix + pull n.1The following example, cited in N.E.D. (1904) s.v., is probably in fact a misprint for overplus:1615 T. Adams White Deuill (ed. 4) 51 To racke the poore with over-puls [1613 ouer-plus], all (but Deuils) hold monstrous.
A pull which is excessive or too strong.
