Origin: Probably either (i) formed within English, by derivation. Or (ii) a borrowing from early Scandinavian, combined with an English element. Etymons: out- prefix, rake n.3
Etymology: Probably < out- prefix + rake n.3 or its early Scandinavian etymon.
Now Scottish and English regional (northern).
