Etymology: < an inferred singular of pairls n. + -ed suffix2. Sc. National Dict. (1968) at pairls records the word as still in use in Selkirkshire in 1965.
Scottish (chiefly southern).
Affected with paralysis; shaking with a paralytic tremor.
