Etymology: < par- (in parboil v.) + baked adj. Compare par-roast v.
Chiefly North American (rare before 20th cent.).
Partially baked. Now used esp. of a yeast product (as bread, etc.) which is partially baked and then packaged and sold for home baking. Also figurative.
