Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin Pannonicus.
Etymology: < classical Latin Pannonicus < Pannonia (see Pannonian n. and adj.) + -icus -ic suffix. Compare French †pannonique (1646).
= Pannonian adj.In recent use sometimes used spec. to designate a biogeographical region corresponding roughly to ancient Pannonia.
