Etymology: < ancient Greek παράλαμψις shining spot on the cornea < παρα- para- prefix¹ + Hellenistic Greek λάμψις shining (although this is apparently first attested later; < ancient Greek λάμπειν to shine (see lamp n.¹) + -σις -sis suffix).

Medicine. Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
