1683 S. Pordage tr. T. Willis Two Disc. Soul of Brutes ii. x. 181 To this Disease [sc. Phrensie] there is another of kin, viz. the Paraphrensie, commonly called, or additional Phrensie, whose cause is not an inflammation of the Membranes which cover the Head, but as they affirm of the Diaphragma... But as to the conjunct causes of the Phrensie, and Paraphrenesis, we may easily shew, that the former doth not always proceed from the Inflammation of the Meninges, nor this latter from the Inflammation of the Midriff.
