Etymology: < classical Latin Parthī (plural) inhabitants of Parthia, Parthians. Compare ancient Greek Πάρθοι (plural), Middle French, French Parthe (1574).In Old English a strong masculine i -stem (the declensional class typical for ethnonyms). Compare also Old English Parðware Parthians ( < Parth- (in Parthia ) + -ware suffix).
Now rare and archaic.
