1. Theology. A state of harmony among all creatures, originally and esp. as prophesied in Isaiah 11:1–9 (see quot. 1611); a realization of this, as posited in utopian theologies such as that of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Also (chiefly U.S.) in extended use.
