Etymology: < the name of Charles Sanders Peirce (1839–1914), U.S. philosopher and logician.Peirce's law was set out in his paper ‘On the Algebra of Logic: A Contribution to the Philosophy of Notation’ ( Amer. Jrnl. Math. 7 180–202), published in February 1885.
