Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: period n., -ology comb. form.
Etymology: < period n. + -ology comb. form.
1. Medicine. The doctrine that various phenomena, such as menstruation and certain diseases, occur at regular periods. Obsolete. rare.Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
