释义 | pepperpottingn. Originally New Zealand. The interspersing of housing for one type of occupant in an urban area that predominantly contains housing for another type. Esp. in early use: (New Zealand) the policy of interspersing state-financed homes for Maori tenants in a predominantly non-Maori area. ΚΠ 1960 Rep. Dept. Maori Affairs (1961) 41 The ‘pepper-potting’ policy of dispersing Maori houses amongst European houses to promote closer integration. 1971 Housing in N.Z. 204 [Maori and Island Affairs Department's] houses for sale are intended to be dispersed singly or in groups of two or three throughout cities and towns, according to a practice known in the jargon of housing administrators as pepper-potting. 1986 A.
