Etymology: < post-classical Latin perfectus (1614 or earlier in this sense: see note), specific use as noun of classical Latin perfectus perfect adj. Compare earlier perfect n. 2b.Post-classical Latin perfectus is recorded in J. Gretser's edition (1614) of the Liber Contra Waldenses by Rainier Sacconi (13th cent.). However, this edition would appear to be a revised and augmented version of Rainier's original, and the word does not appear in modern editions.
