Compare post-classical Latin perihermenia interpretation (6th cent.), usually in plural, probably arising from a reinterpretation of perihermenias as an accusative plural. Compare perihermiacal adj. N.E.D. (1905) gives the pronunciation as (pe:rihəɹmī·niăl) /ˌpɛrɪhəˈmiːnɪəl/.
