Etymology: < classical Latin perniciōsus (see pernicious adj.1) + -ity suffix; compare -osity suffix. In later use probably modelled directly on pernicious adj.1 Compare post-classical Latin perniciositas (c1283 in a British source), Middle French perniciosité (1544; French perniciosité).
Now rare.
The quality of being pernicious; wickedness, harmfulness.
